“Gateway Records” from Cincinnati OH. Not much to be found about this label.. especially in English. I guess these guys care.
Other mentions of this particular record online are about the 45rpm version.

Let me say that I HATE this “Lady of Shady Lane” song.
As for “Let Me Go, Lover“, it’s an old favorite due to my love of Hank Snow. This version here’s alright. I like some of the things she does vocally.
No clue who Eileen Scott is. The connecting factor between these two sides appears to be Herbie Layne’s Orchestra. One interesting note is that this record was released in 1954, the same year these songs hit big by other artists.

“I would guess it is regional budget cash in on national hit. Cincinnati was once a major location for recording industry.”

Galaxie 500 does my favorite cover of “Ceremony.”

The Joy Division and New Order versions are great but the Galaxie 500 version just combines a bunch of perfect things.. since they happen to be one of my other favorite bands.
The instrumental melodies in this song break my heart. I don’t know why. At 2:53. This song sounds like my life feels.
I’m not much for live stuff but this was the only version I could find online.

I would love to have some stuff to hang on the walls in my “studio.” I’m putting up my Lili St Cyr prints behind me but I think for the wall my desk faces, I’d like something a bit more in line with my current tastes.
